Godwin graduated with Honours in 2004 at the National Art School Sydney, majoring in painting; he also holds a Graduate Diploma of Education in Visual Arts from the Australian Catholic University. Godwin currently paints full time. His work ranges from the abstract to the representational depending on the subject in question. He feels that although each body of work is complete in itself, it is also a stepping stone to the next certainly in terms of structure that goes deeper than mere surface level.
