Course Outline
Join this ‘free form’ weaving experience where you work towards making your own woven wall hanging. Using an array of materials including beautiful yarns, fabric and other materials, textile artist Sky Carter will teach you weaving techniques that can be used to create a variety of looks.
Play and experiment with different materials from Sky’s curated stash as you learn to weave on a portable bamboo weaving loom designed by Sky. The loom is yours to keep, so your weaving journey will be easy to continue.
This workshop is a fabulous opportunity to learn the fundamentals of weaving as well as indulge in some creative expression and colour play.

About your tutor
Sky is a Sydney based fibre artist and colour designer. Part of the New Craft Movement (a global happening; where art meets design meets craft) she chooses weaving and other fibre techniques as her vehicle for creative expression. Sky regularly exhibits her works, and has been featured in Inside Out Magazine, Home Beautiful Magazine and is part of a fibre and textile art collective called Seed Stitch.
