Learn French with this beginner’s class – whether it you are learning French for travel, business or just for fun. Get the basics as you learn face to face in these practical and interactive classes.
This course is for people with no previous knowledge of French, it is ideal for the traveller to a French speaking country or for people who want to learn everyday French conversation. It uses a conversational approach with an emphasis on speaking and listening skills, while also introducing grammatical structures and basic reading and writing skills. Cultural points are integrated into all classroom activities.

Outcomes
- learn basic greetings and introductions
- understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases.
- express simple needs and talk about preferences (eg ordering food and drinks")
- enable basic communication in situations common to travellers
- interact in a simple way using basic sentences and grammar
- use samples of language performance by native speakers, gathered from a range of computer-based sources, such as the internet, as models for learning and authentic communication situations in French
- apply knowledge of the culture of French-speaking communities to interact appropriately
