The BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration will help you develop outstanding administrative and organisational skills, learn to analyse and evaluate information, develop leadership skills and find solutions to a range of office problems. This course covers a range of complex administrative tasks and duties that are required in most workplaces.
In our fast-paced world the traditional paper-based office is now becoming a thing of the past as cloud-computing takes over. Customers engage online rather than in-store. Instant communication with clients is vital. Shared documentation is now commonplace. The traditional office is being replaced by flexible working environments.
Staff who can lead employees to increase their adaptability by providing knowledge in a wide range of software applications are more likely to be employed than those without. Skills to communicate effectively, work to deadlines, use a wide range of computer applications, and to engage with and provide services for customers globally are highly sought after.

People who want to gain employment in a potions such as a personal assistant, office administrator or project assistant. It is also suitable for those currently working in these roles to recognise and refine their existing skills.
Entry requirements
You will need to have language, literacy and numeracy skills (LLN) that allow you to read and interpret information and prepare documents at a moderate to advanced level. City East Community College may conduct an LLN assessment as part of the pre enrolment process.
Experience in an office environment and a moderate level of Microsoft Office skills or a BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration will be required to understand the course content.

Course Outcome
Upon successful completion of all units of competency students will be issued a BSB40515 Certificate IV in Business Administration. A Statement of Attainment from BSB40515 will be issued if you have successfully completed one or more units of competency but not the full certificate.
Pathways
This qualification offers a pathways to roles including personal assistant, office administrator or project assistant. Further study can be pursued through a Diploma of Business Administration BSB50415. Note this is not currently on offer with City East Community College.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) & Credit Transfer (CT)
Recognition of prior learning is an assessment process that involves assessment of an individual’s relevant prior learning (including formal, informal and non-formal learning) to determine the credit outcomes of an individual application for credit.
Credit transfer is a process that provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications.

Learning strategies
This course is delivered in flexible, online mode, meaning you don’t need to attend any face to face session in a classroom environment. We will provide you with all the learning and assessment materials and you will study at your own time and pace. Once you are registered you will be matched with a trainer/assessor and have a personalised orientation session. Your trainer/assessor will provide ongoing support via email, phone or video conferencing communication.
Assessment strategies
Assessments for this qualification include both formative and summative assessments and include questions and answers, portfolio of evidence and project assignments. You will be provided with assessment tasks at the beginning of your course in your personalised orientation session.
